The cruises statistics for 2017 are under revision due to late arrival of harbor data reporting.

 

Fewer cruises and higher numbers of passengers in 2017

During year 2017, there were a total of 27,425 passengers visiting Greenland, aboard cruise ships. It represents an 11.6 % increase as compared to the total number from 2016.

Of the 84 cruises in 2017, ships of 1-250 passenger capacity were most frequent. However, it was the 1200+ capacity cruises which brought the higher passenger numbers (Table 2).

The guests who arrived at the harbours in Greenland summed up to a total of 74,701 visits. This is a 10.7 % decrease as compared to year 2016 (Table 3.)

You are more likely to meet a German passenger off the cruise ship as they represented a 47.8% of the total. The passengers were distributed by nation as seen in figure 2. A more detailed statistic can be acquired from the statistics bank.
